About Let's Go Third Edition

Let's Go 3rd Edition is the best selling coursebook for children across Japan and Asia. After years of extensive reviewing and piloting by teachers of Japanese children, it retains the balance of clarity, and friendliness and fun which makes it the most adaptable children's English course.

 

The Syllabus

The syllabus of Let's Go 3rd Edition retains all the hallmarks of the Let's Go series that have helped to make the series so successful to date:

  • A consistent design and arrangement for each unit, so students readily know what to do.
  • A highly effective unit structure that ensures language is properly introduced, practiced, and expanded upon.
  • Activities, songs and chants that are fun and effective in maximizing student output of language.

Each unit is divided into 4 major sections:

  • Let's Start: A communicative dialogue with targeted language and a fun song or chant by Carolyn Graham.
  • Let's Learn: Vocabulary is introduced and taught, followed by an appropriate statement pattern and question form.
  • Let's Learn More: Topical vocabulary, along with a statement pattern and question-and-answer practice, as well as recycling of previously learned language.
  • Let's Build: This section provides more opportunities to recombine and "Build" upon language that students have already learned.

After every 2 units, there are special sections to review and introduce new vocabulary:

  • "Listen and Review" sections ensure students meet key content again to reinforce what they have learned.
  • "Let's Learn About" sections introduce essential, high frequency topical vocabulary areas at regular intervals. (Numbers, Parts of the Body, Days of the Week etc.)
